橙红色片状结晶或砖红色结晶粉末。在183-188℃分解。易溶于氯仿和二甲基亚砜，溶于乙酸乙酯、甲醇和四氢呋喃，溶于水（pH＜6）、丙醇和四氯化碳。干燥粉末可稳定5年以上，其水溶液在室温10h失效，但加入还原剂（如抗环血酸）可减少分解，在二甲亚砜中极稳定。
