- 绿色带有金属光泽结晶或深绿色结晶性粉末，易溶于醇，能溶于氯仿，尚溶于水，不溶于醚，溶于水呈紫色，极易溶于酒精呈紫色。在浓硫酸中呈红光黄（橙）色，稀释后呈暗绿光黄色转蓝到紫色，在浓硝酸中呈橄榄色。其水溶液加氢氧化钠成紫色沉淀；加盐酸变蓝色。属三苯甲烷类碱性染料。 1g溶于10ml乙醇、15ml甘油。中等毒，半数致死量(大鼠，经口)420mg/kg。，溶解度:16 g/L 水(25°C)，1 G/10 ML 醇，1 G/15 ML 甘油。
