用途:碱性磷酸酶(alkaline phosphatase)的组织化学底物。
5-溴-4-氯-3-吲哚磷酸(BCIP) 和 氯化硝基四氮唑蓝(NBT)用于比色法鉴定碱性磷酸酶标记分子. BCIP/NBT 底物系统用途非常广泛：包括 Northern Southern, Western blotting, 原位杂交（in situ hybridization）和免疫组织化学。
BCIP 可以有两种盐的形式: 二钠盐型溶于水，对甲苯胺型溶于二甲基甲酰胺（DMF）。这些盐型可用于制备和NBT结合的储存溶液和反应缓冲液，构成碱性磷酸酶的底物溶液。 底物系统和碱性磷酸酶一起培养，产生一种不溶的带紫色的NBT双甲腊( diformazan )产物，容易被观察。
