升华。实际上不溶于水，微溶于乙醇、苯、醋酸乙酯，溶于乙醚、热醇和热醋酸，在浓硫酸中溶解并呈现暗绿色。升华得橙红色片状体。与亚硫酸钠作用生成不稳定的亚硫酸氢盐。经进一步氧化，可得联苯二甲酸。还原成菲氢醌。
