介绍：易吸湿。极易溶于水，100℃时溶解度103·3g/100ml水。60%水溶液的pH为6·5～7·0。不溶于醇、醚，微溶于丙酮。加热至150℃则分解形成亚硫酸铵、硫黄、氨、硫化氢及水。空气中十分不稳定，在氨气中稳定。

用途：感光工业用作照相定影剂，较钠盐更易溶解卤化银的乳膜，具有水洗时间短而银回收容易的优点，还用作镀银电镀浴的主要组分、金属表面的清净
