是一种表观遗传修饰物，可抑制DNA转甲基酶活性，导致在DNA脱甲基化（低甲基化）以及通过重塑“开放”染色质激活基因；当脱甲基化作用与组蛋白乙酰化联合作用时，基因可协同活化；5′--氮脱氧胞嘧啶引起DNA脱甲基化或者半脱甲基化；DNA脱甲基化能够调节基因表达，通过“开放”染色质可检测结构提高核酸酶灵敏度，这种重塑染色质结构，允许转录因子连接基因启动子区， 转录复合体组装以及基因表达 |
