介绍：溶于乙醇和乙醚，难溶于水。遇三氯化铁呈现暗红紫色。与亚硝酸作用，生成黄色难溶性重氮化合物。在酸性及碱性条件偶合分别生成两种偶氮化合物。

用途：本品用作偶氮染料的中间体，作为黑色系列的直接染料、酸性染料的中间体而被广泛应用。其衍生物钠盐易溶于水；O，N-二乙酰化物的对甲苯胺盐，熔点230～231℃。
